The Beginners Guide To Resources (Chapter 1)

Ways of Bridging the Gender Divide Among Women

If you are more interested into the societal relations, you may have noted, that gender socialization tends to start at a very early age. One would need to dig deep and learn that girls tend to be socialized into toy cars while girls are socialized into Barbie preparing them to take care of their children when they grow up. One would need to note that some of these skills tend to be strictly for men while others tend to be strictly for women with socialization beginning at a very tender age. Boys and girls also tend to be socialized differently on matters pertaining to the hobbies and sports they should engage in. During this socialization, girls tends to be taught to put on skirts as well as how to sit with the skirts while boys are socialized to put on trousers. Even while the society may be preaching that there is progress towards bridging these gaps, there are still gaps women should join and work together towards crossing the gap.

Women, as a result, would need to focus more about uplifting themselves as well as ensuring info and empowerment to the fellow women. In the same line, the more women play an active role in taking what best suits them as opposed to what best suits the societal definitions, the more change towards an equal future will be realized.

.more women are still caught up in the socialized perceptions even as they struggle towards achieving equality due to the subconscious beliefs they have accumulated over time. Women have also been socialized to speak less when in the company of men. It is also unfortunate that some women have had no control of when, and how to give birth and raise their own children.
Any woman would need to discover more on how to improve gender equality but would need to start by changing his or her own perceptions. One would need to be sure that he or she does not preach things he or she does not practice. If your memory serves you right, you may have been told never to play football as it is meant for men. You may have been told that trousers are for boys and that you should play with Barbie. Through socialization, one is made to believe that some behaviors, tasks, and responsibilities are exclusively meant for girls and women. You would need to remember that children do not understand these roles but tend to be socialized and as they grow with them, they come to accept to live with them.
